(Caribbean Loop) – Grenadian Olympic bronze medallist Anderson Peters continues to shine for his country as he won his first Diamond League title in Brussels on Saturday at the Allianz Memorial Van Damme.

Peters, 26, who recently won bronze at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, walked away as the champion at the Diamond League after he threw a distance of 87.87 metres in the finals of the Men’s Javelin.

He outmatched India’s Neeraj Chopra, the Paris 2024 Olympic silver medallist, who fell one centimetre short at the Diamond League final and had to settle for second place after throwing a distance of 87.86 metres.

Meanwhile, Germany’s Julian Weber finished third after he threw a distance of 85.97m.

Shared on Peters’ Instagram page were photos of the winners from Day 2 of the final, with the Grenadian athlete also proudly displaying his Diamond League trophy.
